About Us

koko+kind is an independent fitness brand, designed by athletes for athletes.
Featuring organic and premium fabrics, our exclusive signature artwork and thoughtful touches providing the best in design, while being versatile, unique and sustainable.

Jemma the founder of koko+kind has a background in fabric design and has been a dancer, teacher, run coach, marathoner and now mother.

Jemma is well known in the UK for her support and promotion of Women in Sport across the age ranges, trying bit by bit to remedy the drop off in sport we see among young women/teenagers which leads to them taking up the sport again after age 35.

Through her volunteering and involvement on the England Athletics Regional Council Jemma was named Runner-Up in the National Volunteer Awards for 2020 and her passion at koko+kind is no different.

Using her immense knowledge of fabrics and her pattern design history Jemma has sourced fabrics and fits that will enable women to feel amazing on each and every run and workout. As a self confessed 'Legging Addict' she has tried almost all brands from UK, America, Brazil and Australia, almost landing her perfect legging in a couple of brands but then finding that costs were out of her budget or shipping too high. Jemma then turned to making her own leggings for her and her daughter with many friends asking for her to make them a pair, that is how koko+kind was born.

Sourcing the softest butter feel fabric, three pockets, reflective small detailing, and sophisticated patterns Jemma knows her brand is what is missing from the UK market in 2021. Jemma's experience across age ranges with her Mum and Daughter both involved in running, across sports with involvement in Cani-X, Triathlon, Crossfit, and Zumba... (yes we don't know how she fits it all in either) cross country having lived in the UK and Australia and her involvement in grass roots and elite level sport, koko+kind really has it all for the 2021 runner who doesn't have time or money to compromise on their activewear.

Our Values don't just stop in empowering women. We are committed to sustainability and supporting small businesses. We work with two Charities, Sharewear Clothing scheme, where our samples and repaired returns are sent to, in a bid to help those living in clothing poverty to access physical exercise. The Crisp Packet Project Shirebrook is the second where all our factory plastics, and packaging goes to to be turned into survival blankets for the homeless.

On top of this we are also committed to using eco-packaging, compostable, plantable or recyclable, and are soon to introduce reusable laundry bags as packaging cutting any waste.

Our logo is inspired by the Mountains of Australia and the UK, the open-water of our beautiful lakes here in the Uk, and the pine trees of Jemma's home in Sherwood Forest.

Jemma is surrounded by a kickass team of friends, helpers and fellow artisans. Supporting WAHM business' is at the core of koko+kind so we have paired with some outstanding Female-owned business' to create unique koko+kind products and gifts.
